Titulaire d&#8217;un dipl\u00f4me d&#8217;ing\u00e9nieur agronome de l&#8217;universit\u00e9 de Tr\u00e1s-os-Montes e Alto Douro, il re\u00e7oit le prix de la Fondation \u00ab Ant\u00f3nio de Almeida \u00bb et une distinction sp\u00e9ciale du gouvernement portugais pour avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 le meilleur \u00e9tudiant de son dipl\u00f4me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apr\u00e8s quelques formations aux vendanges, en collaboration avec des vignerons consacr\u00e9s tels que Manuel Vieira, Lu\u00eds Cabral de Almeida et Anselmo Mendes, compl\u00e9t\u00e9es par des \u00e9tudes de vinification et de viticulture et un passage \u00e0 l&#8217;Institut de viticulture de l&#8217;Universit\u00e0 Cattolica de Piacenza (Italie) o\u00f9 il a collabor\u00e9 avec les professeurs de renom Mario Fregoni et Luigi Bavaresco, il rejoint d\u00e9finitivement l&#8217;\u00e9quipe de vinification d&#8217;Alves de Sousa en 2002.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pendant quelques ann\u00e9es, il travaille dans le domaine viticole Alves de Sousa, tout en pr\u00e9parant un doctorat en viticulture et \u0153nologie de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 de Tr\u00e1s-os-Montes e Alto Douro, obtenu en 2011 avec la classification maximale. Il publie plusieurs articles sur la viticulture et l&#8217;\u0153nologie dans des revues scientifiques internationales et dans des travaux de conf\u00e9rences. Il est souvent invit\u00e9 \u00e0 donner des conf\u00e9rences au Portugal et \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9tranger. En outre, Tiago est souvent juge dans certains des plus importants concours viticoles internationaux (Royaume-Uni, Chine, Portugal, Allemagne, etc.).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aujourd&#8217;hui, il est responsable de la production de tous les vins du Douro et de Porto de la famille Alves de Sousa. Depuis que Tiago est devenu le vigneron, la famille Alves de Sousa a remport\u00e9 le prix du \u00ab Producteur de l&#8217;ann\u00e9e \u00bb en 2006, a re\u00e7u plus de 300 m\u00e9dailles dans les concours internationaux de vins les plus prestigieux et a \u00e9t\u00e9 parmi les mieux not\u00e9s des vins portugais dans les plus grandes publications internationales. En 2016, Tiago est invit\u00e9 \u00e0 devenir membre du \u00ab F\u00f3rum de En\u00f3logos \u00bb (Forum des \u0153nologues), un club \u0153nophile exclusif qui rassemble les viticulteurs portugais les plus prestigieux.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En 2017, Tiago se voit attribuer le \u00ab\u00a0National Winemaker Award\u00a0\u00bb par la Confr\u00e9rie gastronomique de l&#8217;Algarve, un prix qui n&#8217;est donn\u00e9 que tous les deux\u00a0ans et qui distingue les personnes ayant contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9l\u00e9vation du vin et de la gastronomie au Portugal et en Europe. La m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, il re\u00e7oit \u00e9galement une double nomination pour les prix \u00ab\u00a0Winemaker of the Year\u00a0\u00bb (par le magazine \u00ab\u00a0Wine &#8211; A Ess\u00eancia do Vinho\u00a0\u00bb) et \u00ab\u00a0Winemaker Generation XXI\u00a0\u00bb (par le magazine \u00ab\u00a0Paix\u00e3o pelo Vinho\u00a0\u00bb).
