Last week, Fermentis had the pleasure of participating in this year’s Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America, held in Philadelphia.

The Craft Brewers Conference is where brewers, innovators, and industry leaders unite to shape the future of independent beverage alcohol. Alongside our distributor and partner RahrBSG, we welcomed brewers, partners, and beer lovers from across the USA and beyond to our booth and presentations.

Fermentis is committed to providing brewers with the tools they need to constantly evolve and meet global trends. The booming NOLO market is an exciting opportunity, and we’re helping brewers unlock new possibilities for no- and low-alcohol beer.

At our dedicated stand, brewers could discover our latest innovation, SafBrew™ LA-02. Our first maltose-negative Torulaspora delbrueckii strain, SafBrew™ LA-02 allows brewers to achieve very low apparent attenuation and limit alcohol production without investing in dealcoholization equipment. With neutral fermentation characteristics and no phenolic (spicy, clove-like) notes, this new solution is an excellent choice for a wide range of NOLO beer styles.

At the main stand, visitors could learn more about our growing range of solutions for alcoholic beer, including our game-changing yeast for hoppy lagers, SafLager™ SH-45. Our experts were on hand to meet guests, answer questions, and provide tips and recommendations about our yeast, bacteria and derivatives.

Our experts also contributed insightful presentations to the event. Technical Sales Manager Kevin Lane gave a deep dive into the technical features and advantages of SafBrew™ LA-02 for NOLO beer, while Gabriela Montandon, our R&D Global Manager, discussed how we can harness machine learning to predict yeast flavor expression. This cutting-edge research demonstrates the potential of machine learning in fermentation optimization and product design, while reinforcing the critical role of sensory evaluation in understanding beer flavor.

Each year, we’re honored to sponsor the World Beer Cup competition and celebrate the incredible brewers, especially those who take home medals using Fermentis yeast. Your creativity, passion, and pursuit of excellence inspire us every day.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Brewers Association for organizing another fantastic Craft Brewers Conference. It is always a pleasure to participate and connect with the passionate brewers and industry professionals who make up the craft brewing community. We look forward to seeing you all again at CBC 2027!
