Fermentis recently participated in the 38th Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers Asia Pacific Convention (CIBD) in Hobart, Australia.

This year, the event hosted more than forty exhibitors. Guests enjoyed a three-day program filled with presentations, seminars, and tours of local breweries and distilleries around the state. There was also ample opportunity for guests to connect with other industry professionals while enjoying local food and entertainment.

Our technical experts presented on subjects including the development of new co-fermentation strategies, crafting distinctive NAB and worty flavor mitigation, and the performance of Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation and the production of congeners in different substrates.

The event also included engaging seminars. Our team hosted a successful workshop on the impact of fermentation on New Make Spirit flavor and aroma, illustrated by tastings of commercial samples.

On the tradeshow floor, our team discussed the challenges brewers face and how our products and processes can help increase efficiency. Distillers were interested in discussing the impact of yeast on congeners and flavor profiles on different substrates. You can read more about this subject here.

This event was also a great opportunity for our team to communicate about our new brewing yeast, SafLager™ SH-45, which will launch later this year.

Fermentis proudly sponsored the closing night’s Gala Dinner, where students who had earned their CIBD Diploma in brewing and distilling were recognized and celebrated. Stéphane Meulemans, our general manager, gave an address, congratulating the organizers for the fantastic program and reflecting on how important such events are to the industry.

We can’t wait to participate again next year!
